Gateway Member Services is Dedicated to Helping Our Members
A Gateway Health Plan® (Gateway) member called Member Services to request a listing of participating specialists. While providing the woman with the information she requested, the Member Services representative noticed that the member was in her mid-50s. The representative offered a courtesy reminder advising the member that she was eligible to get a yearly mammogram. As it turned out, the member had not had a mammogram in the previous two years.
The Member Services representative explained the benefit as well as noted participating hospitals in the area where she could have the test done. The representative also offered the assistance of Gateway’s Preventative Health Department (now part of Care Management) in case the woman ran into any additional problems with getting a mammogram. The member thanked the representative for showing an interest in her health and taking the time to assist her with this important issue.
