Medication Clean-up Event, Saturday May 8, 2010
Prescription drugs accounted for about half of accidental poisoning deaths in the US in 2004, and every day thousands of teenagers use someone else’s prescription drugs to get high for the first time.
The Pennsylvania Medical Society will hold a medication clean-up from 10 AM to 2 PM on May 8, 2010, at two sites in Pittsburgh: the West End Center at 80 Wabash St. and the Kingsley Center at 6435 Frankstown Ave.
Pittsburgh-area residents can bring their unused prescriptions to the drop-off sites. Physician and pharmacist volunteers will be on hand to collect the drugs and ensure that they are disposed of properly.
